Mapping Memories: Immigrant Workers Seek Climate Justice

Project

FIU and WeCount! Migration Stories

Our partners at FIU and WeCount! created The WeCount! Stories Website, a multi-media project featuring video, exhibits, drawings, narratives, history, StoryMaps, and interviews.  This is a project by FIU graduate students in English and Architecture in collaboration with The Humanities Action Lab & WeCount!

Their website states,

This project aims to share the stories of migrant workers in Homestead by offering a site where Spanish and English speaking audiences have the opportunity to learn about and explore the migration stories of workers in South Miami-Dade County. Facilitated by Dr. Gray Read, MA in Architecture Director, and Dr. Martha Schoolman, MA in English Director, graduate students met with and interviewed a handful of migrant workers; these are their stories.” – About Us

Watch their WeCount! Stories video below, which recounts the process of documenting and retelling interviewees’ migration stories.
